great reception and the kids loved them. the batteries died quick but don't know how long they were in since it came with them.would buy again
Very adequate little radios for our 4WD touring group. They are easy to operate, tough and very affordable.Take extra batteries.
The new ones are a little better.they last maybe up to an hour. The battery ran out within 10 minutes on the first pair I purchased for my 2 and 6 year old sons. I returned it (still have not gotten my refund 4 weeks later) and got a new pair. That would be my biggest criticism - you will go through alot of batteries.but other than that they function well and are small and easy to use. I did not test the 12 mile range.my boys just use these for play at home.
:-DIf you plan on communicating over more than 1/2 mile or in a multi-level high-rise, do yourself a favor and get some real jobsite radios. If I had any kids, I would give these to them to use as toys.
On what planet. I'm lucky if I can go 1/2 mile before the signal on these things starts to break up.
12 miles. I'll keep them to use around the office, but I will not be cancelling my Nextel service any time soon.
Although, for $20 I'm not the least bit surprised. You get what you pay for in this world.
LOL. These just won't cut it.
They were purchased for a 10 year old boy who likes to play with his friends close to home. He likes them a lot and so far the batteries and distance capability have not failed his expectations.
